Business Support Apprentice

Summary

We're searching for an individual with a knack for technology and an eye for detail. This role as Business Support Apprentice demands robust IT prowess and exceptional communication skills. Minimum Requirements

GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above, or a relevant Level 2 functional skills qualification.

  • Organisational Abilities: Solid organisational aptitude to juggle multiple tasks, prioritise duties, and maintain precise records.
  • Attention to Detail: Sharp attention to detail for managing shipping documents, maintaining accurate data records, and overseeing commercial documentation.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to identify and address issues critically within everyday business operations. 
  • Customer Service: A customer-focused approach to managing enquiries and offering exceptional service. 
  • Numerical Skills: Basic numerical aptitude for handling sales orders, tracking services, and analysing data for reporting purposes. 

Training Provided

Apprenticeship follows a Level 3 Business Administrator standard, potentially incorporating Level 2 elements if necessary. 

Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English may be included if needed. 

Training combines Work-Based Assessment and day/block release, concluding with an End Point Assessment to formally evaluate acquired skills and knowledge. 

Future Opportunities

Successful apprentices could secure a permanent role within ATC's production team. This experience equips you with valuable skills applicable to diverse business positions and sets a strong foundation for various career paths within the business realm. Potential for specialisation and growth within ATC's expanding markets also exists. 

Position Details

Responsibilities:

  • Manages shipments, crafting delivery notes and commercial documentation.
  • Handle reception tasks, attending to customer, supplier, and sales staff calls. 
  • Process sales orders for spare parts, repairs, and service contracts.
  • Coordinate in-house repairs, including returns, quoting, and dispatching. 
  • Validate delivery notes and facilitate supplier returns with effective communication. 
  • Monitor service, inspection, and calibration, scheduling visits and timely dispatch. 
  • Aid in ISO9001 quality and ISO14001 environmental management system reporting. 
  • Oversee printing of manuals, MSDS sheets, labels, and uphold updated records. 
  • Administer filing and logging of test sheets. 

You will:

  • Recognise the significance of adhering to SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and documented processes to bolster business functions 
  • Develop insights into the complexities of operating within a global business. 
  • Generate records and documents. 
  • Gain understanding of interdepartmental relationships and functions. 

Additional Information

Access to personal transportation is advantageous due to location. 

The distance between the employer and the college is approximately a 60-mile round-trip. While college learning aims to be remote/on-site to minimise this, candidates will need to travel to the college campus in Burton on Trent (DE14 3RL) for Century Assessments, Enrolment. and Induction.
