Remote Alarm Pack

Overview

Remote alarm boxes can be useful in a variety of scenarios where there is a need for continuous monitoring and early detection of issues with a chiller. Such scenarios include:

Critical Operations

  • In operations where downtime can have serious consequences, a remote alarm box can help to ensure continuous operation by providing early warning of potential issues that could lead to system failure.

Remote Locations

  • In locations where equipment is located in remote or inaccessible areas, a remote alarm box can provide real-time monitoring and alerts, allowing personnel to respond quickly to issues.

Complex Systems

  • In systems that are complex or have multiple components, a remote alarm box can help to identify issues that may be difficult to detect manually.

A remote alarm box works in conjunction with sensors that are installed within the chiller system. These sensors are able to detect various parameters, such as temperature and flow rate, that affect the performance and operation of the chiller.

The alarm box is connected to these sensors, either directly or through a control system, and is programmed to monitor specific parameters and trigger alerts if they fall outside of predetermined thresholds. When an alert is triggered, a lamp will illuminate, and an audible siren will sound, indicating that there is an issue that requires attention. The alarm box also features an emergency stop switch that will turn off the chiller should this be necessary.

There are several benefits of using a remote alarm box in conjunction with process cooling equipment, including:

The compact remote alarm supplied by Applied Thermal Control is sited close to the application, allowing personnel to monitor the chiller, without needing to see the chiller. The display indicates normal operation, or shows alarms for temperature and fluid (both flow and level). An audible siren also sounds in an alarm condition. The alarm box can be mounted up to 15 meters away from the chiller and is fitted with an emergency stop switch that will turn off the chiller should it be necessary.
