Applied
Thermal Control are pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Watson to the
position of Director. This follows the vacancy created by the recently announced retirement of Jon Abel from the
board.
ATC first appointed
Ryan Watson to the position of Sales Executive in 2012
where he played an integral role in
the growth of the business through his understanding of, and work alongside,
Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
Ryan left
the company in 2015 with a desire to develop his skillset, gaining experience
with Triple Red, a laboratory supply company specialising in water
purification, then with Materialise,
world leaders in 3D printing. During his
time away from the company, Ryan gained specialist insight into the buying and
selling processses, within a larger company environment
and a commitment to gaining a
deeper understanding of customer requirements as working in the
medical sector, delays and errors could come with fatal consequences.
In 2017, Ryan returned to ATC as Sales
and Marketing Manager, with an enhanced insight into company practices. This
coincided with acquisition of Applied Thermal
Control by the SDI Group,
an exciting time for growth within the company. Ryan returned with an
ambition to take ATC to the next level, and dreams to make ATC an
internationally recognised brand.
In 2019, SDI Group
bought Thermal Exchange, now fully integrated into ATC at the Barrow on Soar
factory. Thermal Exchange were the original creators of
rack mounted chillers and specialised in the design and
manufacture of temperature control equipment for industrial,
medical and scientific applications, including airblast coolers and water to
water heat exchangers.
Following a record-breaking year for
ATC, Ryan is excited to join Robert Poniatowski and Mike Creedon as a
Director within the company. In his spare time, Ryan plays hockey at a
competitive level, and has enjoyed sharing his skills and experience with the clubs
upcoming members in a coaching capacity. Ryan is also a keen archer, spending
time researching traditional methods and craftmanship. Ready for a new
challenge, Ryan has recently taken up the sport
of fencing.
“I am very proud to have achieved the position of Director at
ATC and would like to thank the company and SDI Group for all of the support
that I have received over the last decade. When I joined the company, I was a
very inexperienced but enthusiastic salesperson. I have taken great pleasure in
being able to contribute to the growth of ATC and I am
passionate about our future, especially with the investment of the SDI Group.
ATC continues to go from strength to strength, and
having successfully navigated a couple of
challenging years, the future looks very bright indeed.”

Director, ATC
Following
acquisition
and investment by the SDI group, the
turnover of ATC has more than
doubled, with a growing
team of 35 employees.
