RS-485
is a serial data transmission standard, commonly used for industrial
implementations. RS-485 supports local networks and multidrop communications
and can be used effectively over long distances in noisy environments.
ATC Chillers can be supplied with communications ports for RS-485 to allow
continuous monitoring and logging of temperature and alarms by an external
computer, via a MODBUS protocol. The comms. port is via a 9 way
D-connector.
When this option is installed, it is then possible to install a conductivity sensor, a pressure sensor, or a flow meter pack to communicate further information via RS485.
Applied Thermal Control also offer an option for information to be communicated via MODBUS RTU over Ethernet.
